Abstract

A produção de citros em Portugal tem uma longa tradição. Desde que a laranjeira doce foi introduzida na Europa, Portugal produz e exporta citros. Na segunda metade do século XX, deu-se um forte aumento da área ocupada com a cultura. Nas últimas décadas, houve uma evolução, com a modernização dos pomares, aumento da produtividade e melhoria da qualidade dos frutos.
