This paper forms part of the research programme on forest fires in Sierra Morena which the author is carrying out at the University of Cordova. After studying the ancestral relationship betweem fires and hunting, the author goes on to consider two sides of the present situation in Spain. On the one hand, the impact of the fires on hunting activities, or, more accurately, on catches. This section is dealt with from the point of view of time (recent evolution of damage as regards hunting) and space (impact of fire on the main big game hunting areas in the country). FInally, hunting is approached as a fire-risk factor, taking Andalusia as an example.
