Las termas portuarias de Colonia Patricia

Abstract

Las últimas investigaciones arqueológicas en el entorno del río Guadalquivir a su paso por Córdoba, junto al denominado Puente Romano están ofreciendo un panorama cada vez más completo y complejo de las infraestructuras y organización tanto del puerto fluvial como del suburbium meridional generado al albor de una las calzadas más importantes de la Antigüedad: la via Augusta. Precisamente, en la margen izquierda del Guadalquivir, y a pocos metros del Puente Romano, la Actividad Arqueológica Preventiva SS-4, dirigida por la autora, que arrancaba en 2009 con motivo de un proyecto de construcción de viviendas de protección oficial para la reubicación de las expropiaciones destinadas a liberar el entorno de la Torre de La Calahorra, dio lugar a uno de los descubrimientos más interesantes de los últimos años de la arqueología urbana cordobesa: los restos de un complejo termal de época romana, dotado de un espacio abierto con peristilo y varios hipocausta con praefurnia y presencia de un gran fornix.
