Modelización de la radiación ultravioleta solar

Abstract

La investigación en torno a la radiación solar ultravioleta ha experimentado un importante avance en las últimas décadas, como consecuencia de la importancia de sus efectos biológicos y sus posibles aplicaciones tecnológicas. En este sentido, esta Tesis Doctoral pretende contribuir a la caracterización de la radiación solar ultravioleta en la Península Ibérica. Concretamente, a partir de largas series de datos experimentales registrados en Córdoba, se han analizado estadísticamente las distribuciones de radiación solar ultravioleta tanto diaria como horaria y se ha modelado la relación de éstas con la radiación solar total diaria y horaria respectivamente, así como con otras variables radiométricas y atmosféricas. Asimismo, para el caso de la radiación horaria, se han comparado los resultados obtenidos con los derivados de medidas experimentales de otra localidad de la península ibérica, y más concretamente, del área del Mediterráneo (Valencia). Por otra parte, con datos de córdoba nuevamente, para distintos intervalos de mas óptica relativa de aire, se ha estudiado y modelado las distribuciones de frecuencia relativa del índice de claridad ultravioleta, comparando los resultados con los de las distribuciones del índice de claridad total. Por último, a partir de medidas experimentales registradas en Hobart (Australia), se propone un modelo que permite determinar la columna total de ozono a partir de medidas comúnmente registradas en las estaciones radiométricas, como son la radiación solar total y su componente ultravioleta eritemática. De esta forma, se contribuye al progreso de esta línea de investigación que, ante la disminución de la capa de ozono y el consecuente incremento de la radiación solar ultravioleta que alcanza la superficie terrestre, trata de satisfacer las demandas por parte de la sociedad de información e investigación en torno a esta problemática, así como medidas preventivas basadas en los resultados de estos estudios.
