Los Juegos Olímpicos modernos, basados en el enfoque moderno que el Baron Pierre de Coubertain le dio a los celebrados en la antigua Grecia, tienen hoy día una influencia social innegable y dentro de ellos en los niños y niñas. Es por ello que deben ser tenidos en cuenta a la hora de considerar su influencia en la educación de dichas generaciones, pero la relación ira más allá, si conocemos bien qué es el olimpismo, cómo surgió y cuál era la idea de Coubertain respecto a la educación y su relación con el mismo. En este artículo se ofrece un acercamiento a dicha idea, para posteriormente situarla en el contexto educativo actual y finalmente ofrecer una serie de posibles sugerencias para su utilización.
The modern Olympic Games, based on the modern approach that the Baron Pierre de Coubertain gave to those celebrated in the ancient Greece, have today an undeniable social influence on children. That is the reason why they should be taken into account when we consider their impact on education of such generations, but the relationship will go further, if we know what the Olimpism is, how it a rose and which was Coubertain's idea regarding education and its connection with himself. An approximation on this idea is offered in this article, with the objective to place it in the current educational context and finally give a vanety of possible suggestions for its use.
