Abstract

La artroplastia total de rodilla es una cirugía común que ayuda a mejorar la movilidad y calidad de vida de los pacientes, asociándose con dolor postoperatorio (DP) severo (60%) y moderado (30%), el cual no disminuye hasta pasadas 24-48 horas después del acto quirúrgico. Las técnicas anestésicas regionales, como el bloqueo de los plexos nerviosos y algunos nervios periféricos como los del femoral y ciático, además de su aplicación en la anestesia quirúrgica, pueden ser utilizadas para obtener una analgesia postoperatoria eficaz, segura y económica.
