[ES] La lectura representa una actividad fundamental en la formaci?n y la transmisi?n del conocimiento. Los h?bitos de la lectura y de compra de libros, responden a variables socieconomicas, culturales y pol?ticas, reflejo a su vez de un concepto de legitimidad cultural que implica una limitaci?n interpretativa importante. En esta contribuci?n se analizan los factores que participan en la formaci?n y el desarrollo de ambas variables, as? como las fuentes que dan fe de ellas.
[EN] The reading represents a fundamental activity in the formation and transmission of the knowledge. The habits of reading and book purchase, respond to socieconomicas, cultural and political variables that are reflected of a concept of cultural legitimacy that the surveys put in prohibition. In this contribution the factors that take part in the formation and development of both variables, as well as the sources are analyzed that give faith of them.
