Género: ¿concepto suficiente? Concepto necesario

Abstract

[EN] In this paper I intend to make an approach to the concept of genre: from the moment in 1968 appears in the work of R. Stoller "Sex and gender on the Development of masculinity and feminity", until today, through a review of feminist theories that I consider most relevant. For this I rely on the key that set two major lines of thought: the equality feminism and difference feminism. The first will aim at achieving effective equality between men and women, denying that there are essential differences that supports discrimination. In general, without taking into account now nuances between authors and periods go shelling along this study, we can say that feminism's "first wave" challenges the exclusion of women, their alienation from the public sphere . The difference feminism is brewing in the dialectical confrontation with the former and is later chronologically, although, as I said, there are important nuances between related streams and also in this second wave coexist movements and opposing theories and conflicting. As an example, there is a significant gap in the ranks of feminism of difference, between the French school represented by Luce Irigaray and Anglo-American which is part of the theory of Gilligan's moral development: the first is markedly essentialist , while the second focuses more on real issues of justice and moral behavior.
