RESUMEN: El art?culo se propone como fin b?sico restaurar la memoria de las maestras sometidas a depuraci?n durante el franquismo; para ello parte de un objetivo m?s concreto: mostrar ?en desacuerdo con algunas opiniones que sostienen una mayor suavidad en la depuraci?n de las maestras por el hecho de ser mujeres? que ?stas reciben, sobre todo en el proceso represivo que juzga las acciones en el espacio p?blico, el mismo trato severo que los maestros, siendo incluso m?s duramente castigadas que ?stos en algunos comportamientos propios del espacio privado. Para demostrar esta afirmaci?n se analizan los 2.391 expedientes de depuraci?n incoados a maestros y maestras valencianos, atendiendo tanto a los aspectos cuantitativos como a los cualitativos del proceso depurador. ABSTRAC: The basic aim of this article is to remember the women schoolteachers subjected to purges during Francoism.
