[EN]The University of Salamanca, whose origins can be traced back over 750 years, paleontological studies began only two decades ago. This historical imbalance has been offset by the discovery of numerous deposits of fossil vertebrates, where most abundant wildlife are the turtles, crocodiles followed in importance and to a much lesser extent, mammals and fish.
