Abstract

[EN]Chelonian fossils of the Emydidae and Testudinidae families are present in the Guadix-Baza basin. of the scarce Emydidae remains found, it has only possible identify Mauremys sp. of the Testudidae, two different species are found. The first, very similar to some forms of Spanish Pliocene until now without name, is different than both from T. Pyrenaica DEPERET and from T. globosa PORTIS. The second form is very similar to T. hermanni G.M, but it is not same and could be correspond to a new taxon, possibly Pleistocene. In the studied deposits, the Testudinidae as well as the Emydidae are found in both their mature and ones froms.
