Abstract

[ES]El mantenimiento con metadona es un tratamiento m?dico de la adicci?n que no se puede comparar en eficacia a ning?n otro. Como resultado m?s de 700.000 personas en todo el mundo pueden vivir saludablemente, tener una vida plena, independiente y aut?noma. Se estima que en Estados Unidos hay unos 200.000 pacientes en tratamiento, mientras que en Europa se habla de cifras en torno a 530.000 pacientes, reparti?ndose el resto por Australia, Nueva Zelanda y Oriente Medio.

[EN] Methadone maintenance is a medical treatment of addiction that can not compare in efficacy to any other. As a result over 700,000 people around the world can live healthy, have a full, independent and autonomous. It is estimated that in America there are about 200,000 patients in treatment, while in Europe it comes to numbers around 530 000 patients, the remainder being shared by Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.
