Abstract

La progresiva conquista de la Pen?nsula Ib?rica no s?lo modifica el car?cter de los n?cleos urbanos preexistentes a trav?s de la regulaci?n de las relaciones entre Roma y los vencidos, sino que da lugar a un ?flujo migratorio?, que durante el siglo ? a. C. posee, en contraste con lo que ocurre en el siglo I a. C , un car?cter eminentemente privado, ajeno a cualquier tipo de organizaci?n p?blica. Esta emigraci?n en algunos casos se yuxtapone a los n?cleos urbanos preexistentes y en otros se procede a crear estructuras urbanas nuevas, ajenas al poblamiento ind?gena; sin embargo, tanto en un caso como en otro, la organizaci?n en la que se vertebra este ?flujo migratorio? difiere por su car?cter y su estructura interna de los ordenamientos ind?genas. Esta migraci?n ha dejado su huella topon?mica, antropon?mica y ling??stica en H?spanla; desde el punto de vista topon?mico, adem?s de determinadas analog?as ya defendidas por R. Men?ndez Pidal, no hay duda, comenzando por el top?nimo dado a la primera fundaci?n romana en Hispania, It?lica, de la existencia de analog?as entre top?nimos hispanos e it?licos que constituyen un indicio del posible origen it?lico de los habitantes de una serie de enclaves urbanos.
