[EN] Jimena Mu?iz was a member of the Berciana aristocracy who appears mentioned in the medieval chronicles as concubine of the king of Leon Alfonso VI, and mother of his daughters Elvira and Teresa of Portugal. The objective of this work has been to carry out a historiography revision on the subject and a systematic study of documentation coming from different leonine Episcopal and monastic institutions. New information obtained has allowed us to reflect on the character of the union that she maintained with the monarch; to know Jimena?s familiar bonds with aristocratic groups appertaining to the near circles of the court and their possible relation with the religious crisis of 1080, to which Pope Gregorio VII does allusion in one of his letters that by these same dates address to the Leonese monarch.
