[EN] The aim of this work is to critically consider the relation between the commons and the productive uses that are developed on this kind of soils. This question is put into the logic of the feudal mode of production in its process of transformation. The different productive uses (from grazing to the more complex and even contradictory articulation between agricultural expansion and Mesta?s live stock intensification) are thought in tight connection to the general context of peasant communities consolidation as well as to the reinforcement of substantial proprietors and social dominant sectors. The dynamics of productive uses are consider by taking into account economic and social agents needs in their changing and contradictory relations, all of which permits us to examine the discussion on the topic with other tools.
