This research tries to assess the contribution that the scale of Social Desirability of Edwards (So) can offer to the Validity scales of MMPI-2 through a methodological design constituted by a Sincere and Simulator group. The Sincere group was formed in turn by two subgroups (Normal and Clinical), which replied in a standard way to the MMPI-2 test, and the Simulator group formed, in turn, by two subgroups (Good Image, and Bad Image) whose members have been instructed to reply to the MMPI-2 questionnaire in a specific manner. The results show that the So scale has behaved in a very sensitive way in order to detect those individuals who are trying to offer a positive image of themselves.
