Abstract

E-learning development standards are giving the way to create systems to integrate applications for on line learning and teaching process, on which content ca be reused and shared, among people and systems. This kind of content is called Learning Objects and they are conforming libraries for the educational sector as Learning Object Repositories. This document makes a review of the state of this repositories, it will give the definition, main characteristics, the way they perform and the initiatives that support and drive their development.
