Los est?ndares para el desarrollo del e-learning est?n marcando la pauta para crear sistemas que integren las aplicaciones para los procesos de ense?anza y aprendizaje en l?nea, en las que los contenidos puedan ser reutilizados y compartidos, entre personas y entre sistemas. A estos contenidos se les conoce como Objetos de Aprendizaje y con ellos se est?n formando bibliotecas de aplicaciones para el ?mbito educativo, llamados Repositorios de Objetos de Aprendizaje. En este trabajo se presenta una revisi?n al estado de estos repositorios, presentando su definici?n, principales caracter?sticas, su forma de operaci?n y las iniciativas que apoyan y dirigen su desarrollo.
E-learning development standards are giving the way to create systems to integrate applications for on line learning and teaching process, on which content ca be reused and shared, among people and systems. This kind of content is called Learning Objects and they are conforming libraries for the educational sector as Learning Object Repositories. This document makes a review of the state of this repositories, it will give the definition, main characteristics, the way they perform and the initiatives that support and drive their development.
