Abstract

Se inician en este trabajo los estudios sobre el yacimiento paleontol?gico ya citado anteriomente, que se extend?a en la ribera N. del r?o Tormes, entre Cabrerizos y Aldearrubia, presentando algunos cortes estratigr?ficos que muestran una alternancia de conglomerados y areniscas de diverso tama?o, con algunos niveles arcillosos.Se describe una nueva especie de toruga: Stereogenys salamantycensis, de la familia de los Pelomed?sidos, superfamilia de los Pleurodiros. El ejemplar tipo es la parte anterior de un peto, que se compara con las otras especies de Stereogenys.La posici?n de la nueva especie es muy similar a la S. podonemoides, es decir, intermedia entre Podocnemis, Stereogenys y otros g?neros, y con ella se ampl?a el conocimiento y la distribuci?n paleogeogr?fica de la familia.
