Los delitos de cuello blanco en el cine americano: American Psycho versus Glass Onion

Abstract

Los delitos socioeconómicos son una tipología delictiva muy reciente que fue expuesta por primera vez por Sutherland en 1949 con el nombre de “delitos de cuello blanco”. Este tipo de delincuentes son poco retratados en el cine, siendo algunos ejemplos las adaptaciones de novelas estadounidenses American Hustle (La gran estafa americana) o The Wolf of Wall Street (El lobo de Wall Street), aunque uno de los más conocidos es Patrick Bateman de American Psycho. En la nueva película Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (Glass Onion: un misterio de puñales por la espalda) se nos ha presentado un nuevo millonario excéntrico llamado Miles Bron. La investigación se centrará en analizar qué características comparte con Patrick Bateman. Para ello es necesario hacer una comparación de los perfiles de ambos personajes para demostrar si son ejemplos en el cine negro de delincuentes de cuello blanco. Se utilizará la teoría de Mergen de 1971 que nos hace una descripción psicológica de este tipo de delincuentes.
