Villae romanas en Asturias

Abstract

[ES] En el presente volumen se ofrece al lector una catalogación de las villae romanas documentadas, hasta la actualidad, en el territorio correspondiente a Asturias. Dicha región se encuentra en la parte noroeste de la antigua provincia de Hispania. Para llevar a cabo este estudio se han recopilado las informaciones referentes a 26 yacimientos arqueológicos. El catálogo ha sido enriquecido con una serie de contribuciones realizadas por diversos especialistas, que tratan sobre diversos aspectos relacionados con las villae, y que ofrecen un importante complemento para su estudio. El volumen se abre con un capítulo introductorio sobre la historia de los estudios de las villas romanas en Asturias, seguido de un detallado análisis del concepto de villa a través de las obras de los autores clásicos. Además, se incluye una investigación de la antigua red viaria de Asturias; el estudio de los hallazgos numismáticos documentados en las villas asturianas y, finalmente, una contribución sobre los orígenes del cristianismo en este territorio. La obra se ha enriquecido con una abundante documentación cartográfica, planimétrica y con fotografías aéreas realizadas específicamente para este volumen, alcanzado un total de 50 ilustraciones.
