Abstract

El trabajo por turnos, particularmente en el ?mbito sanitario, se asocia a una alteraci?n significativa de los ritmos circadianos, con importantes repercusiones sobre la salud metab?lica, emocional y funcional del personal de enfermer?a. La crononutrici?n, disciplina que estudia la relaci?n entre los horarios de las ingestas y los ritmos biol?gicos, emerge como una herramienta prometedora para mitigar dichos efectos. El objetivo principal fue evaluar el papel de la crononutrici?n en el personal de enfermer?a, con turnos rotatorios y nocturnos, evaluando su utilidad preventiva frente a las alteraciones metab?licas asociadas a la cronodisrupci?n. Se plantearon adem?s objetivos espec?ficos como el trabajo por turnos altera los ritmos circadianos, evaluar el papel de la crononutrici?n como herramienta preventiva, identificar patrones alimentarios inadecuados, proponer estrategias nutricionales adaptadas y formular recomendaciones practicas aplicables en el entorno hospitalario. Para ello se realiz? una revisi?n bibliogr?fica en bases de datos como PubMed y Scopus, seleccionando 20 art?culos tras aplicar criterios de inclusi?n y exclusi?n. Los resultados obtenidos nos permiten afirmar que existe una alteraci?n de los ritmos circadianos derivados de turnos irregulares y nocturnos asociados a un mayor riesgo de sufrir obesidad, resistencia a la insulina, s?ndrome metab?lico y un mayor desorden en los horarios de las comidas, con un aumento de la ingesta de calor?as y una mayor tendencia al consumo de alimentos poco saludables. Las estrategias basadas en la crononutrici?n y respaldadas por la evidencia cient?fica, demuestran que existe una evidencia de mejora significativa en la salud y el rendimiento laboral del personal de enfermer?a. Su implementaci?n en el ?mbito hospitalario podr?a contribuir a mitigar el impacto negativo que el trabajo a turnos ejerce sobre la salud. Es fundamental que los profesionales integren estos conocimientos en su pr?ctica diaria, tanto para su autocuidado como para optimizar la atenci?n que brindan a los pacientes.
