Abstract

La importancia del patrimonio monumental desaparecido y la huella que ha dejado en el urbanismo actual queda de manifiesto con estos datos: de los 4 colegios mayores, s?lo subsisten 2; de los 4 militares, s?lo uno; y de los 25 menores, 6; en el caso de los colegios religiosos vinculados a la Universidad de Salamanca y que se fundaron desde la Baja Edad Media hasta fines del siglo XVII, que fueron 23, s?lo subsisten restos de 8. Las causas de tal desastre patrimonial fueron sobre todo la Guerra de la Independencia y las leyes desamortizadoras. En este cap?tulo se recopilan los datos conocidos y la ubicaci?n de estos 39 edificios desaparecidos.
