Abstract

[ES]En 1946 Pierre Jahan y Jean Cocteau publicaron La mort et les statues1 , un libro de im?genes en el que la destrucci?n de diferentes monumentos de la ciudad de Paris son el eje fundamental del mismo. La publicaci?n concluye con un breve texto aclaratorio del propio Jahan en el que explica la situaci?n de c?mo, tras la ocupaci?n alemana, se toma la decisi?n de destruir de manera aleatoria determinados monumentos que no ?cumpl?an? el estatus de obra de arte y su eliminaci?n obedece m?s a cuestiones ideol?gicas que propiamente est?ticas. Esta decisi?n toma forma a trav?s del siguiente decreto: ??En nombre del Mariscal de Francia, jefe del estado franc?s se decreta que: se proceder? a la retirada de estatuas y monumentos de aleaci?n de cobre, que se encuentra en las zonas comunes y las oficinas administrativas para entregar los metales constituyentes en el circuito la producci?n industrial y agr?cola?.
