Abstract

En este trabajo analizaremos tres textos originales en ingl?s publicados por la ONU y centrados en el tema de la discapacidad, as? como sus traducciones en espa?ol. Con ello se persiguen cuatro objetivos. En primer lugar, abogar por la traducci?n institucional como motor de inclusi?n, para lo cual es necesario que sus pr?cticas habituales progresen hacia un enfoque m?s sensible a la diversidad. En segundo lugar, evaluar c?mo las publicaciones institucionales reflejan la evoluci?n paradigm?tica en el ?rea de la discapacidad, enfocada hacia la integraci?n social y el desarrollo de un lenguaje inclusivo, y si lo hacen del mismo modo en distintas lenguas. En tercer lugar, demostrar que el uso que hacemos del lenguaje para referirnos a la discapacidad est? supeditado a los intereses y las actitudes de las perspectivas dominantes en la comunidad, as? como que este uso no solo refleja la realidad sobre la discapacidad de forma selectiva, sino que de acuerdo con visiones post-estructuralistas, tambi?n la construye. Por ?ltimo, destacar el car?cter m?ltiple de las identidades humanas, y defender que no se puede definir a un individuo solo por una de sus facetas. As?, abogaremos por una inclusi?n real de la diversidad, para lo cual la traducci?n puede revelarse una herramienta ?til.
