Abstract

Introducci?n: La enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) es un trastorno neurodegenerativo, multisist?mico y cr?nico que se manifiesta cl?nicamente con s?ntomas motores como temblor de reposo, bradicinesia, rigidez, alteraciones de la postura y la marcha, que habitualmente se asocian con s?ntomas no motores. El ejercicio f?sico se ha planteado como una alternativa terap?utica y la evidencia reciente apunta que puede ser beneficioso para mejorar la funci?n motora y cognitiva de los pacientes, adem?s de ejercer un efecto positivo en la salud mental de estos, as? como en la mejora de la calidad de vida. Objetivo: El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar una revisi?n sistem?tica de la literatura cient?fica reciente para evaluar la evidencia sobre el efecto del ejercicio f?sico en la EP. Estrategia de b?squeda y selecci?n de art?culos: Se lleva a cabo una b?squeda bibliogr?fica en las bases de datos PubMed, Sopus y PEDro, seleccionando ensayos aleatorizados publicados en ingl?s o en espa?ol en los ?ltimos 5 a?os, que incluyan el ejercicio f?sico como opci?n de tratamiento para la EP. S?ntesis y an?lisis de resultados: Se seleccionan 12 art?culos, en los que se estudia a un total de 462 sujetos con EP en estad?o leve a moderado. Estos ensayos eval?an principalmente el efecto del ejercicio en la funci?n motora, a trav?s de diferentes intervenciones propuestas por los autores, que abarcan ejercicio aer?bico, ejercicio de fuerza y ejercicio de flexibilidad. Conclusiones: El ejercicio f?sico mejora la funci?n motora y la calidad de vida en la EP, aunque para homogeneizar criterios, es necesario m?s investigaci?n que aporte resultados concluyentes sobre protocolos adecuados y pautas id?neas.
