?Vigilar, informar, sancionar. La labor del Grupo Especial de Vigilancia del Extrarradio de la Guardia Civil en los barrios de chabolas madrile?os durante la etapa franquista?

Abstract

Este texto pretende exponer la labor del Grupo Especial de Vigilancia del Extrarradio de la Guardia Civil, una secci?n casi desconocida, cuyo trabajo se enmarca en la l?nea de control y represi?n con la que el r?gimen franquista trat? el ?problema del chabolismo? madrile?o. Esta unidad se form? a ra?z de la aprobaci?n del Plan de Urgencia Social de Madrid en 1957 , y constitu?a, junto a la elaboraci?n del Censo de Infraviviendas, el n?cleo central de la actuaci?n sobre la acuciante realidad urban?stica madrile?a de ese momento. Las Fichas del Censo de Infraviviendas, con las fotograf?as tomadas a las familias chabolistas, formar?n el ?material? central de un Archivo cuya magnitud da cuenta del alcance del problema del chabolismo en la ciudad de Madrid a finales de los a?os 50. Tomadas a la puerta de sus infraviviendas (chabolas, cuevas?), numeradas y clasificadas, en las fichas se recog?an los datos familiares, laborales, de procedencia? Estas fotograf?as muestran los rostros de miles de familias trabajadoras, emigradas en su mayor?a de zonas rurales empobrecidas, que fijaban en Madrid su futuro.
