Abstract

La idea de ?ciudad inteligente? ha cristalizado en una imagen de utop?a urbana dirigida por la tecnolog?a e impregnada de infraestructuras tecnol?gicas controladas centralmente, con el objetivo de mejorar el entorno urbano en t?rminos de eficiencia, seguridad y sostenibilidad. Una ciudad inteligente es aquella que, entre otras cosas, facilita la movilidad, mejora los servicios sociales, es sostenible y da voz a los ciudadanos. Aunque muchas otras entidades ser?n fundamentales para crear una ciudad m?s justa -incluyendo cientos de organizaciones comunitarias sin ?nimo de lucro-, la biblioteca es una instituci?n p?blica principal en el desarrollo y logro de una ciudad m?s equitativa en m?ltiples ?reas cr?ticas, ya que es un recurso comunitario de primer orden por su car?cter igualador e igualitario.
