Abstract

Las ?lceras y heridas cr?nicas son un grave problema sanitario, disminuyen la calidad de vida del paciente y aumentan su morbimortalidad, por ello es importante prevenirlas y curarlas. Hay muchos tratamientos convencionales para tratar las heridas cr?nicas, pero llama la atenci?n que la utilizaci?n de la terapia larval no est? tan valorada como el resto de t?cnicas, sobretodo en Espa?a, por esta raz?n me he planteado realizar este trabajo, para averiguar si hay evidencia cient?fica sobre la terapia larval como tratamiento en heridas cr?nicas. Se ha realizado una revisi?n bibliogr?fica para obtener toda la informaci?n relevante sobre la terapia larval. Para ello se ha efectuado una b?squeda entre febrero y marzo de 2020 utilizando las bases de datos Dialnet plus y Medline y el buscador cient?fico Google Acad?mico, y siguiendo los criterios de inclusi?n y exclusi?n se han seleccionado 20 art?culos cient?ficos para realizar este trabajo. En esta revisi?n se ha observado que la terapia larval es un m?todo de desbridamiento simple, eficaz, selectivo, r?pido y seguro para el tratamiento de heridas cr?nicas, debido a que act?a a nivel del desbridamiento, desinfecci?n y cicatrizaci?n de la herida. Aunque la terapia larval est? relacionada con un aumento del nivel del dolor, por lo que se recomienda pautar analgesia. Debido a la repulsi?n que generan las larvas en muchas personas, es muy importante informar a los pacientes sobre las ventajas y desventajas de esta terapia para evitar el rechazo.
