Abstract

La Parada Cardiorrespiratoria en la gestante es ?un suceso agudo que implica al sistema respiratorio, cardiovascular y/o al cerebro, que se traduce en una disminuci?n o en la ausencia de consciencia que tiene lugar en cualquier momento de la gestaci?n y que incluye hasta 6 semanas posteriores al parto?1. Con el aumento de las comorbilidades, las afecciones cardiovasculares y el incremento de la edad materna, la probabilidad de sufrir una parada cardiorrespiratoria (PCR) durante la gestaci?n ha aumentado considerablemente desde 1/30.000 casos hasta 1/12.000 actualmente 2. Las causas que pueden derivar en una PCR durante el embarazo son las mismas que las de la poblaci?n est?ndar, pero incorporando las causas obst?tricas derivadas del estado grav?dico de la mujer como son la embolia de l?quido amni?tico, hemorragias, preeclampsia, S?ndrome de HELLP (hemolisis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets), cardiomiopat?a periparto o complicaciones anest?sicas. La poca evidencia cient?fica documentada y la falta de equipos entrenados en PCR materna tambi?n son factores que empeoran el pron?stico de la reanimaci?n cardiopulmonar (RCP)1?3. En esta revisi?n se hablar? de la PCR en el embarazo, sus implicaciones y el manejo m?s adecuado de RCP en gestante seg?n las gu?as oficiales y opiniones de expertos.
