Inteligencia artificial y mercado de trabajo

Artificial Intelligence and Labor Market
Authors: Hernández González, Carmen;

Inteligencia artificial y mercado de trabajo

Abstract

[EN] The use of artificial intelligence (AI) can profoundly modify labor relations, both because of its capacity to destroy and create jobs, and because of its consequences in the redistribution of income. The changes can occur explosively, which would bring the need to adapt the activity of the public sector and labor standards to new situations. The inevitable changes must be made compatible with maintaining the social order or even with democracy. This work refers to some of the advances of the AI, to place in perspective the importance of the subject. The complexity of the concept of AI is studied, its possible influence on the number of jobs, how the changes can affect the health and safety of the workers and the alternatives to keep an equitable distribution of income. Also, this paper deals with the recommendations of the EU for the future development of artificial intelligence according to ethical criteria that make it trustworthy. In the labor market context, we refer to GDPR and to the Spanish legislation on the matter.
