Los repositorios institucionales: evoluci?n y situaci?n actual en Espa?a

Abstract

[ES] El archivo de documentos en repositorios constituye la ruta verde para alcanzar el acceso abierto al conocimiento. Los repositorios institucionales (RIS) han sido considerados como una de las mayores revoluciones conceptuales y tecnol?gicas en el campo de la publicaci?n cient?fica, al facilitar la diseminaci?n r?pida y generalizada de los resultados de la investigaci?n. El n?mero de RIS en el mundo ha ido en aumento desde finales de los a?os ochenta del siglo pasado y se ha expandido r?pidamente en la ?ltima d?cada del siglo veintiuno. Este crecimiento producido a nivel internacional tambi?n se ha producido en el caso espa?ol. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar el estado de la cuesti?n de los repositorios institucionales en el ?mbito internacional y nacional, as? como observar la evoluci?n y situaci?n actual en Espa?a. A trav?s de la revisi?n de la literatura sobre el tema se obtienen no solo los datos te?ricos sobre los RIS (definici?n, contenidos, implementaci?n, etc.), sino tambi?n los datos sobre aspectos observados que influyen en el uso y captaci?n de contenidos, en el ?xito de los RIS y sobre las tendencias actuales con respecto al acceso abierto a los contenidos cient?ficos que tienen repercusi?n directa sobre los repositorios. Por otra parte, la informaci?n aportada por los directorios, recolectores y repositorios permite realizar una panor?mica general y actualizada de los RIS en Espa?a, teniendo en cuenta los datos emp?ricos de crecimiento, contenido, tecnolog?a, pol?ticas y visibilidad de los repositorios institucionales.
