Abstract

La agenesia del cuerpo calloso (ACC) es una malformaci?n cong?nita del Sistema Nervioso Central (SNC) que consiste en la ausencia parcial o total de las conexiones interhemisf?ricas a nivel del cuerpo calloso. Puede presentarse de forma aislada o asociada a otras malformaciones cerebrales o extracerebrales tales como malformaciones oculares, musculo-esquel?ticas, digestivas, cardiovasculares, maformaci?n de Dandy Walker, malformaci?n de Arnold-Chiari; entre otras. De esta manera, su sintomatolog?a es muy variable de un paciente a otro, siendo com?n el retraso psicomotor, el retraso mental, las convulsiones o hallazgos relacionados con la par?lisis cerebral. Estas caracter?sticas sintomatol?gicas, nos llevan a pensar que este tipo de pacientes pueden verse beneficiados por el tratamiento rehabilitador o de estimulaci?n precoz para tratar de potenciar las posibilidades f?sicas e intelectuales del ni?o al m?ximo. En este trabajo, con el objetivo de observar la evoluci?n neurol?gica, presentamos un caso de Agenesia del Cuerpo Calloso completa cuyo tratamiento ha consistido en la Terapia Vojta basada en las posiciones de Reptaci?n Refleja y primera y segunda fase del Volteo Reflejo.
