Abstract

[EN]The main aims of this study are two: on the one hand, to analyze the causes that made possible the assumption and the presence of the political press and the right of citizens to freely express their ideas and political thoughts, without leaving aside the legislative developments in this area; but also, and in line with this first aim, to present the results that all this produced at the local level, i.e. which kind of press was published, its periodicity and duration, the character it took, who were its mentors and promoters and how was it received by the public. In short, to make known the press of Salamanca of the first liberalism, of an unquestionable value as a documentary source, and to deepen the analysis of the press that is already known, at the same time that new numbers and locations are offered, but above all rescuing new titles so far unknown and/or delocalized.
