Abstract

[ES] A diferencia de un libro impreso, una sola copia de un libro electr?nico podr?a potencialmente ser le?do simult?neamente por muchos usuarios desde cualquier lugar. As?, una de las principales preocupaciones de los editores es que el pr?stamo de ebook en las bibliotecas pueda erosionar las ventas de libros. Para contrarrestar esto, muchos editores insisten en t?rminos que reproducen aspectos del pr?stamo del libro impreso. Algunos de estos t?rminos puede ser necesarios y tolerables, al menos temporalmente, para eliminar los miedos percibidos por los editores de cara a fomentar la venta de libros electr?nicos a las bibliotecas. Otros cuestionan que la exigencia por parte de los usuarios que plantean cada vez m?s una mayor demanda de libros electr?nicos ser? positiva para los usuarios y perjudicial para la percepci?n de la biblioteca como servicio. En el documento se analiza la situaci?n actual del libro electr?nico en la biblioteca y se describen las acciones desarrolladas por las bibliotecas y asociaciones profesionales en defensa del lector digital en las bibliotecas. Entre estas se destacan iniciativas como las llevadas a cabo por Eblida, ALA, FirstReaders, E.voke y las llevadas a cabo por algunos consorcios bibliotecarios como Kansas, Colorado y Marmot.
