Abstract

En este art?culo se analiza la contribuci?n de la prensa literaria del siglo XVIII al desenvolvimiento de la cr?tica literaria y la po?tica. Con este prop?sito, se estudian las cr?nicas teatrales del Memorial literario y las diferentes modalidades que adopta el discurso cr?tico ante los diferentes g?neros dram?ticos (comedias de magia y espect?culo, teatro barroco espa?ol, comedia de costumbres y comedia seria). Finalmente, se comenta el papel desempe?ado por la cr?tica ilustrada en la sustituci?n del canon clasicista y del gusto popular por otro m?s acorde con la ideolog?a burguesa.
