Abstract

Los estudios de disponibilidad y el CREA coinciden claramente en que panza y tripa son las voces menos generales en el mundo hispanohblante, ya que est?n restringidas a ciertas ?reas del espa?olcon el significado de ?parte del cuerpo?; sin embargo, estos dos estudios no concuerdan con respecto a abdomen, vientre y barriga. Ello nos lleva a ratificar la teor?a de Borrego (2005), seg?n la cual esta serie no tiene un verdadero t?rmino neutro de referencia. Si abdomen es el m?s disponible en j?venes preuniversitarios y vientre resulta el m?s frecuente en el corpus del CREA, quiz? podamos inclinarnos a pensar que los j?venes abandonan el t?rmino vientre y eligen abdomen como formal-t?cnico y barriga como coloquial.
