Interacción genotipo-ambiente: GGE Biplot y modelos AMMI

Abstract

Los fenotipos son una mezcla del genotipo (G), el medio ambiente (E) y la interacción entre ellos (GEI). La interacción complica el proceso de selección de genotipos con rendimiento superior. Se han desarrollado numerosos métodos para el estudio de la interacción como son los modelos AMMI (GAUCH 1992) y el GGE Biplot (YAN et al. 2000). El análisis BIPLOT se ha convertido en una herramienta estadística muy importante en el fitomejoramiento y en la investigación científica. En este trabajo se revisan los principios básicos del análisis Biplot y su utilización en el análisis de datos de ensayos multi-ambiente (MET). Además se presentan los modelos AMMI donde se combinan las técnicas de Análisis de la Varianza y Análisis de Componentes Principales y que tienen como objetivo explicar la interacción asociada a un ANOVA bifactorial, a partir de una representación BIPLOT. También se presenta el GGE Biplot como alternativa a los modelos AMMI. El GGE Biplot trabaja con la matriz en la que se combina el efecto principal del genotipo y la interacción genotipo ambiente (G+GE). El GGE Biplot es una herramienta de visualización de datos, que muestra gráficamente la interacción GEI en una tabla de dos vías. El GGE Biplot es eficaz para el análisis de mega-ambientes (which-won-where), la evaluación de genotipos (rendimiento medio y estabilidad) y la evaluación de medio ambientes (poder discriminante). Finalmente se presenta un software desarrollado en R que permite la utilización del GGE Biplot sobre tablas de dos vías del tipo Genotipo-Ambiente ó Genotipo-Tratamiento.
