Abstract

Los fenotipos son una mezcla del genotipo (G), el medio ambiente (E) y la interacci?n entre ellos (GEI). La interacci?n complica el proceso de selecci?n de genotipos con rendimiento superior. Se han desarrollado numerosos m?todos para el estudio de la interacci?n como son los modelos AMMI (GAUCH 1992) y el GGE Biplot (YAN et al. 2000). El an?lisis BIPLOT se ha convertido en una herramienta estad?stica muy importante en el fitomejoramiento y en la investigaci?n cient?fica. En este trabajo se revisan los principios b?sicos del an?lisis Biplot y su utilizaci?n en el an?lisis de datos de ensayos multi-ambiente (MET). Adem?s se presentan los modelos AMMI donde se combinan las t?cnicas de An?lisis de la Varianza y An?lisis de Componentes Principales y que tienen como objetivo explicar la interacci?n asociada a un ANOVA bifactorial, a partir de una representaci?n BIPLOT. Tambi?n se presenta el GGE Biplot como alternativa a los modelos AMMI. El GGE Biplot trabaja con la matriz en la que se combina el efecto principal del genotipo y la interacci?n genotipo ambiente (G+GE). El GGE Biplot es una herramienta de visualizaci?n de datos, que muestra gr?ficamente la interacci?n GEI en una tabla de dos v?as. El GGE Biplot es eficaz para el an?lisis de mega-ambientes (which-won-where), la evaluaci?n de genotipos (rendimiento medio y estabilidad) y la evaluaci?n de medio ambientes (poder discriminante). Finalmente se presenta un software desarrollado en R que permite la utilizaci?n del GGE Biplot sobre tablas de dos v?as del tipo Genotipo-Ambiente ? Genotipo-Tratamiento.
