Abstract

[ES] Este art?culo recorre los principales hitos de la historia de la Biblioteca Nacional de Espa?a desde su creaci?n en 1712 por el rey Felipe V hasta nuestros d?as. Adem?s de sus m?s de seis millones de libros, la principal instituci?n del sistema bibliotecario espa?ol cuenta en la actualidad con un n?mero cada vez mayor de documentos en otros formatos, incluido el audiovisual. El futuro de la Biblioteca Nacional tambi?n pasa por internet, y el servidor Gabriel es su ?ltimo gran proyecto virtual.
