Over the last four decades, the city-state of Singapore has seen tremendous growth and progress. Along with other forms of development, people's attitudes are changing and policies are increasingly being implemented for the individual citizen, including those in the field of healthcare. Healthcare organizations provide goods and services that are designed to promote and improve health (including preventive, curative and palliative interventions). Medical research aims to constantly generate new knowledge in order to improve upon the health of the population. Both organizations are increasingly collecting personal data and information are from the individual citizen.
