This dissertation proposes and evaluates a congestion control mechanism for Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Network. In particular, it describes the modelling and simulation of an ATM network incorporating a policing unit. The model is simulated for evaluations using Simscript II.5 simulation package.
