A interdisciplinaridade no ensino básico

Abstract

The nature of Physical Education is more inclusive, rather than the exclusively motor domain that strongly characterizes it, so its curriculum can articulate contents with other subjects. In this way, it will be possible to outline a collaborative work between the teachers of the various subjects that compose the curriculum of the second cycle of primary education. Despite the various constraints that persist in educational activity, from the initial training of teachers to the way they operationalize the teaching methodologies, schools have been putting into practice projects of interdisciplinary nature. In this context, some educational experiences which promoted the interdisciplinarity were developed in Escola Básica de Mira in the 1998/1999 school year named “Itinerários Ambientais” and the Group of Schools of Montemor-o-Velho. In the 2013/2014 school year, with the participation in a designated project “Um salto para a descoberta”. In the 2014/2015 school year, the “InterAgir” project, which focused on the interdisciplinarity in the second cycle of primary education for the fifth year of schooling, was promoted. In the above mentioned project it was possible to articulate Portuguese, Physical Education, Music, Citizenship, Art and Technological Education. In the 2015/16 school year, an interdisciplinary experience between Physical Education and Science named “As Ciências Naturais e a Educação Física” was carried out in the sixth year of primary education. It was intended to verify if the articulation of contents between the two subjects brought benefits to the academic performance in Science. The experimental design included a pre-test and a post-test in Science. The results allow us to affirm that the experimental group showed a significant improvement between the application of the pre-test and the post-test. The interdisciplinary articulation between the two subjects in this study can be a great contribution for the students to perceive knowledge sharing and its applicability in real context.
