Causas de (in)sucesso escolar

Abstract

The school failure is a scourge that plagues our schools. Several authors suggest several reasons for this, trying to find solutions and strategies to combat this tendency we find in everyday schools. This study focused on a sample of 25 students from a school in the center of Vila Real. Those attending the 8th grade, 13 of whom are female and 12 male. The survey contained questions on topics presented in the social, economic and motivational domain. After the organization of the results, the five most relevant responses were analyzed. We conclude that the organization and coordination of school hours, students' motivation for learning, accountability and insight into the student's parents in the importance of education of the child, help from the school in preparing for exams and monitoring by teachers would be the most important factors for success in school by respondents.
