Abstract

In the present work it is presented an Android application capable of determining the quality of any bovine meat, based on digital image processing. It is used in textural analysis used in order to create a quality classifying measure, based on the evaluation and analysis of the fat dispersion along the meat. Since meat is part of the daily diet of the biggest part of the world population, this application aims to help the producer, or consumer, on the quality analysis of a certain meat, in real time. Satisfactory results have been attained through the usage of an image analysis method featuring different resolutions, which will allow the creation of a viable measure, introducing a major step in an area that is still under developed.
