Abstract

Cada vez mais as pessoas viajam em busca de novas experiências, novas vivências associadas às atividades ao ar livre, em particular nas levadas. O presente trabalho aborda a temática das levadas no contexto das paisagens culturais, associadas a diversas atividades de turismo natureza e aventura. O estudo decorre de um trabalho de campo comparativo entre duas levadas na Ilha da Madeira e o curso de água de Mondim de Basto. O propósito passa por entender quais os códigos de utilização da água pelas populações e a sua influência no norte de Portugal na construção da paisagem. Os canais de irrigação para além do transporte de água são caminhos de descoberta das paisagens. Hoje em dia, procurado pelo público-alvo, aumentando o impacte associado à atividade humana. Desde modo, é importante que os visitantes ao longo dos trilhos sejam orientados sobre as normas de conduta e respeito pelos valores existentes. Para além do objetivo principal da dissertação, pretende-se traçar o uso atual, com dados da capacidade de carga e adequar os percursos ao crescimento futuro das visitas, com finalidade de ajustar padrões de proteção e conservação dos recursos naturais.

Increasingly , people travel in search of new experiences associated with outdoor activities particularly in progress. This paper discusses the theme of levadas in the context of cultural landscapes associated with various activities of nature and adventure tourism . The study stems from a comparative field work between two levadas on Madeira and watercourse of Mondim de Basto. Purpose understand what goes through the codes of water use by the population and its influence in northern Portugal in landscape construction. The irrigation channels in addition to the water transport are ways of discovering the landscapes , increasingly nowadays, sought by the target audience , increasing the impact associated with human activity . Therefore, it is important that visitors along the rails are oriented on standards of conduct and respect for existing values. In addition to the main objective of the dissertation is intended to chart the current usage , with data of load capacity and adjust the paths to the future growth of the visits , with the purpose of setting standards for the protection and conservation of natural resources.
