Abstract

Nowadays the educational community is highly exposed to the complexity of the modern world. This reality requires, particularly from teachers, a wide domain of skills that will respond appropriately to the challenges of the educational life, providing the necessary means to prepare the students for future demands. The integration of Arts in this educational context, namely the dramatic expression and the theatre, contributes to an improvement in the relation between the multiple intervenients, thus creating a communication/expression space propitious for the individual and collective development, as well as for the acquisition of knowledge. Based on this idea, the work here presented is built from the experiences in the formation of “1º ciclo do ensino básico” teachers in the dramatic activities, through the investigation-action methodology. The qualitative investigation herein, with the purpose of understanding and interpreting an educational context, is supported in the way this reality was understood by the intervenients in the study and intends to be a contribution for the amelioration of knowledge in this domain. The theoretical-experimental nature of this formation project aims to develop both personal and professional skills. From this point of view, such designations as “Dramatic Expression”, “Dramatic Game” and “Dramatic Art” become pedagogic options that vary between the valorization action of the process or the accentuation in the final artistic product.
