Abstract

Dissertação de Mestrado em Engenharia Agronómica INSTALOU-SE um ensaio para avaliar o efeito de diferentes substratos e reguladores de crescimento, alguns de ocorrência natural, no enraizamento de espécies autóctones. Este ensaio decorreu nas estufas dos Viveiros Riba-Douro em Vila Real e nas instalações do Departamento de Agronomia da UTAD entre Novembro de 2008 e Maio de 2009 e incluiu três espécies, Cistus albidus L., Cistus psilosepalus Sweet e Juniperus oxycedrus L., autóctones da flora transmontana, que devem ser preservadas pelo seu potencial ornamental e pela sua adaptabilidade às condições edafo-climáticas da região. A multiplicação por via vegetativa é uma das possibilidades de se obterem, de forma rápida, eficiente e económica, um número suficiente de plantas que permitam satisfazer as crescentes necessidades. Os substratos utilizados foram: composto comercial com perlite, composto comercial com areia e composto comercial isolado. Como reguladores de crescimento foram utilizados IBA na concentração de 0,4% e soluções de Cyperus rotundus L. e Salix atrocinerea Brot.. Paralelamente foi feito um pequeno ensaio complementar utilizando Cyperus longus L.. Após 90 dias avaliou-se o número de estacas vivas, mortas, com callus e enraizadas. Nas estacas enraizadas mediu-se o comprimento das raízes e pesaram-se em verde e em seco. Foram também pesados, em verde e em seco, os lançamentos aéreos que se desenvolveram durante o período do ensaio. Foi possível concluir que houve modalidades que influenciaram alguns parâmetros, sendo de salientar os tratamentos com solução de S. atrocinerea e C. longus que parecem ser boas alternativas aos tratamentos químicos. Quanto às espécies, a C. psilosepalus demonstrou ser uma espécie de fácil enraizamento; a C. albidus, pelo contrário mostrou ter dificuldades em enraizar; o J. oxycedrus necessitava de mais tempo em bancada de enraizamento. An experiment has been set to evaluate the effect of different substrates and root promoting growth regulators, some of natural occurrence, in the rooting of native plants. This experiment has taken place in the greenhouses of Riba-Douro Nursery in Vila Real, Portugal, and in the facilities of the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro Agronomy Department, between November 2008 and May 2009, and it has included three species, Cistus albidus L., Cistus psilosepalus Sweet e Juniperus oxycedrus L. all of them belonging to the transmontanaTN flora, which must be preserved for its ornamental potential and for its adaptability to the edafoclimatic conditions of the region. Multiplication through vegetative propagation is one of the possibilities to obtain, in a quick, efficient and economic way, a sufficient number of plants that allow satisfying the growing needs. The substrates used were: commercial substrate with perlite, commercial substrate with sand and isolated commercial substrate. The root promoting growth regulators used were IBA in a 0,4% concentration, and Cyperus rotundus L. and Salix atrocinerea Brot. solutions. Aside, a small experiment using Cyperus longus L. was made as a complement. After 90 days the number of live, dead, containing callus and rooted cuttings were evaluated. In the rooted cuttings the root length was measured and they were weighed fresh and dried. Shoot growths that developed during the experiment were also weighed fresh and dried. It was possible to conclude that there were modalities influencing some parameters, stressing the treatments with S. atrocinerea and C. longus solution which seem good alternatives to chemical treatments. As for the species, C. psilosepalus demonstrated being an easy rooting species; C. albidus, on the other hand, showed difficulties in rooting; J. oxycedrus needed more time in the propagation bench.
