História da Evolução da Engenharia Civil

Abstract

In order to have some knowledge of the history of civil engineering in Europe, Portugal and more specifically in Oporto, became a study of the changes and developments that Civil Engineering had over the years. Evaluations of this study show that the construction has been very successful and the objectives of its development has been achieved. Here we report various types of buildings that have appeared over time, as well as the emergence of new materials and new techniqyes. In this study makes a reference to the main buildings constructed on the European continent, making a comparison with Portugal, followed by Oporto. It also said the major infrastructure built in the city of Oporto, highlighting the evolution of transport The completion of this study is justified by the importance of knowledge structures, as well as their techniques and developments over time, giving due emphasis to the history of engineering.
