Efeito do uso de máscara N95 Classe PFF-2 durante o exercício físico nas variáveis hemodinâmicas e de lactatemia após sessão de exercícios

Abstract

A pandemia de covid-19, provocada pelo coronavírus da síndrome respiratória aguda grave 2 (SARS-CoV-2), desencadeou uma generalizada preocupação mundial, tendo a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) recomendado que o uso de máscaras de proteção seja constante, principalmente em ambientes fechados e em locais de grande aglomeração de pessoas. Igualmente, foi aconselhado a ulização de máscaras de proteção, do tipo N95, classe PFF-2, durante a prática de exercício físico em academias e centros de treinamento. A forma como o uso dessas máscaras afecta as respostas fisiológicas hemodinâmicas e de lactatemia do praticante ainda não está bem esclarecida. Desta forma, o objetivo do presente estudo foi observar de que forma o uso desse tipo de máscaras, durante a realização de exercícios predominante aeróbios (EPA) e anaeróbios (EPAN) afeta as váriáveis fisiológicas hemodinâmicas (pressão arterial sistólica e diastólica) e de lactatemia. Para o efeito 12 participantes saudáveis, de ambos os sexos, com 26,17±4,91 anos de idade, 168,83±8,12 cm de estatura, 74,09±16,72 kg de massa corporal e 16,59±6,86 % de gordura estimada, e com experiência de mais de 6 meses na realização de EPA e EPAN, foram sujeitos à realização destes dois tipos de exercício com e sem máscara de proteção do tipo N95 Classe PFF-2. As análises demonstraram um efeito momento (Z(1,10)=141,770; p=0,00;p 2=0,934), um efeito exercício (Z(3,30)=52,235;p=0,00;p 2=0,839) e uma interação momento x exercício (Z(3,30)=46,683;p=0,00;p 2=0,824) na variável lactato. Mostraram também um efeito momento (Z(1,10)=1192,232; p=0,00;p 2=0,992), um efeito exercício (Z(1,10)=15,423;p=0,00;p 2=0,607) e uma interação momento x exercício (Z(1,10)=23,680;p=0,00;p 2=0,703), em relação à variável Duplo Produto. Em relação à variável Delta de lactato (∆lact), as Anovas demonstraram um efeito entre os exercícios (Z(1,10)=42,174;p=0,00;p 2=0,808) e não demostraram a interação intervenção x sexo nem efeito sexo. Em relação ao Delta do duplo produto não foram observadas diferenças significativas independentemente do exercício, do uso ou não uso de máscara e do sexo dos participantes. Não foram encontradas diferenças significativas nos valores de duplo produto e lactato sanguíneo com a utilização de máscara N95 em EPA e nem em EPAN independente do sexo.

The covid-19 pandemic, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has triggered widespread concern worldwide, and the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended that the use of protective masks should be constant, especially indoors and in places with large crowds of people. It has also been recommended the use of protective masks, type N95, class PFF-2, during physical exercise in gyms and training centers. How the use of these masks affects the physiological hemodynamic and lactatemia responses of the practitioner is not yet well understood. Thus, the objective of the present study was to observe how the use of such masks, during the performance of predominantly aerobic (EPA) and anaerobic (EPAN) exercises affects the hemodynamic (systolic and diastolic blood pressure) and lactatemia physiological variables. For this purpose, 12 healthy participants, of both sexes, with 26,17±4,91 years of age, 168,83±8,12 cm of height, 74,09±16,72 kg of body mass and 16,59±6,86 % of estimated fat, and with more than 6 months of experience in performing APPs and HPS, were subjected to the performance of these two types of exercise with and without a protective mask of type N95 Class PFF-2. The analyses showed a moment effect (Z(1,10)=141.770; p=0.00;p2=0.934), an exercise effect (Z(3,30)=52.235;p=0.00;p2=0.839) and a moment x exercise interaction (Z(3,30)=46.683;p=0.00;p2=0.824) in the lactate variable. They also showed a moment effect (Z(1,10)=1192.232; p=0.00;p2=0.992), an exercise effect (Z(1,10)=15.423;p=0.00;p2=0.607) and a moment x exercise interaction (Z(1,10)=23.680;p=0.00;p2=0.703), regarding the variable Double Product. Regarding the variable Lactate Delta (∆lact), the Anovas demonstrated an effect between exercises (Z(1,10)=42.174;p=0.00;p2=0.808) and did not demonstrate the intervention x sex interaction nor sex effect. Regarding the Delta of the double product, no significant differences were observed regardless of the exercise, the use or non-use of mask and the sex of the participants. No significant differences were found in the values of double product and blood lactate with the use of N95 mask in EPA and neither in EPAN independent of gender.
