Resiliência familiar, coparentalidade e burnout parental em tempos de pandemia

Abstract

Com a presente investigação procura-se averiguar as diferenças em termos da resiliência familiar e do burnout parental em função do sexo e da idade, examinar as diferenças em termos do burnout parental de acordo com o número de filhos e ainda relacionar a resiliência familiar e o burnout parental. A amostra carateriza-se por 271 pais, mães e pais, com idades compreendidas entre os 26 e os 61 anos (M = 41.90; DP = 7.016) e com filhos em idade préescolar (3 aos 5 anos), escolar (6 aos 11 anos) e adolescência (12 aos 18 anos). Os instrumentos utilizados para avaliar estas duas variáveis foram o Questionário Sociodemográfico, a Escala de Resiliência (CD-RICS) e o Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA). Os resultados obtidos indicam que a resiliência não difere de acordo com o sexo, mas relativamente ao burnout parental, o sexo feminino apresentou valores mais elevados de exaustão emocional e sentimento de estar farto do que o sexo masculino. Tanto a resiliência como o burnout parental não variaram de acordo com a idade. Relativamente ao número de filhos este não apresentou qualquer influência sobre o burnout parental e a resiliência demonstrou-se negativamente associada com o burnout parental. Concluímos, essencialmente, que existe uma relação entre a resiliência familiar e o burnout parental e, ainda, que as mães se demonstraram mais vulneráveis para com a exaustão emocional e o sentimento de “estar farto”. Torna-se relevante a promoção da resiliência familiar e a prevenção do burnout parental.
