In the present work, Cultural Representations in the Estado Novo, the objective is to investigate one of the cultural and propaganda media in the Estado Novo period, portuguese cinema. It is intended to investigate the action and interference of the Salazar political regime in cinema and its impact on the indoctrination of portuguese society, as well as to verify the importance of films in the construction of an idealized image of Portugal. Through the visualization and analysis of a set of films from the 30s and 40s, is identified the main cultural representations of Portuguese society and political propaganda conveyed in an explicit and/or implied.

No presente trabalho, Representações Culturais no Estado Novo, o objetivo é investigar um dos meios culturais e propagandísticos no período do Estado Novo, o cinema português. Pretende-se indagar a ação e a interferência do regime político salazarista no cinema e o impacto deste na doutrinação da sociedade portuguesa, assim como verificar a importância dos filmes na construção de uma imagem idealizada de Portugal. Através da visualização e análise de um conjunto de filmes das décadas de 30 e 40, são identificadas as principais representações culturais da sociedade portuguesa e da propaganda política veiculada de forma explícita e/ou subentendida.
